About Us

Hello!

We are Jean and Amanda, a mother-daughter team working out of Troy, MI.

Jean has been a crafter for her entire life. She began sewing at the age of seven and has been unstoppable ever since. Over the years, she has added smocking, quilting, knitting, cross stitch, oil painting, scrapbooking, and more to her repertoire. Scrapbooking is her latest adventure, but sewing will always hold a special place in her heart.

I am Amanda, Jean's daughter. Although I did quilt quite a bit in my younger years with the Girl Scouts, I really only recently took up crafting while taking a semester off before grad school. I can generally be counted upon to sew in a straight line, so quilting is my sewing project of choice. I enjoy knitting scarves and hope to one day add afghans to my list of completed projects. I also took up making gift tags as a way to spend more time with my mom while she's scrapbooking in my old bedroom.

Along with this latest venture in Ross Designs, we also enjoy crafting for charity. In 2012, we are hoping to donate our projects to Knit Michigan (for cancer patients), The Scarf Project (Special Olympics), the Red Scarf Project (for post-foster care kids), the Pink Scarf Project (for breast cancer walk participants), and Project Night Night (for homeless children). We already have definite plans for two of these projects and will move on to the next as soon as we are able! Check back on our main page for updates on these projects.
